Stuck with HughesNet satellite for an ISP..............initially $700 for equipment (you own it). When it breaks it's $125 for an actual LIVE PERSON to come out & that's only after approval from tech support in INDIA. Oh yes, it's also $80/mo. for middle of the road package.
December, Embarq called & said DSL was now available for us & I made an appointment for 23rd of January, the soonest they could install. Promised they'd call if they couldn't get here...........never heard another peep from them.........January came & went. FINALLY found someone who kind of answered my question as to WHAT HAPPENED & was told the system is "at capacity" & it would be "4 to 6 months" before anything became available.
DSL from Embarq was going to cost me $30/month.
