The Ibarra Family and the future of innovation

Our youngest and brightest need access to the open Internet to thrive. If we provide access to Internet to every American we could see an exciting new generation of innovators.

I agree that the youngest and brightest need access to spur innovation. The oldest, (now that I'm older), and frail also need access to stay updated and independent. Everyone in between needs access to improve their life. Can you imagine anyone in the US living without electricity or running water now.

I watched Japan transition through a time of little internet access due to out-dated cable connections to become the highly connected country it is today. It took a real commitment to make this happen. They invested heavily at a time in 1999 when they were still in a deep recession.
It has improved their country in multiple ways.
We need to do this.It is vital to our future. We need to see the as a public utility like electricity that will enhance our countries well-being and insure our progress for the future. We can't let this get hi-jacked by corporate interests or agenda-driven groups.
I see this as a civic-minded project, like interstate highways.
