Although I didn't vote for you, you are my President, and I hope for your success, as I'm a firm believer of Reganonomics, if you and the Country in general are successful, it will trickle down to my success as well.
Regarding Internet access for every child, I believe every child already has Internet access via their Public Library. I think it's far more important to upgrade textbooks in the classrooms first. When schools in larger cities are dealing with older out of date textbooks, what good would Internet access so they can add themelves to Facebook or chat, or view inappropriate sites? I believe up to date textbooks, coupled with a full and complete audit of each schools finances to see exactly where the taxpayers money is going comes before a huge investment in computers, most of which will undoubtedly be siphoned off by school employees and contractors. The corruption is so great, there have been countless numbers of janitors supposedly working in the school, and instead were found drinking beers and cocktails on their boats in NYC.
In addition, when we can go out on the street and ask 20 teens and early 20's youths what century the Civil War was fought, or when was World War 1, if you obtain the correct answer from two of them, you're doing well. Geography, same thing, most can't identify where Iraq even is much less the major European Countries. It would be funny as on the Leno sketches, if it weren't so sad.
So, as I previously said, I wish you well in your first term, in fact, I'm hoping for a successful term, as I love my country, but I'm afraid I fear my government as we are slowly changing from citizens to subjects. If you decide to go after guns, you may do well in CA and the Northeast, but watch out in the Heartland, as most would die before giving up their God given right to self protection and protection from a tyrannical government, but I doubt your success in this matter is rather unlikely.
Best regards, but I will be closely watching;
Joe White

The way I see it the internet can teach kids stuff text books never can its all very well and good to say there are flaws in the education system but the way I see it the bigest flaw is in the inteligence system mainly due to the fact there isnt one
look at all thease idiots with there rap and there hip hop and there hate songs about peeing on girls thease people have been educated they are the product of the educational system
however at no point have they actualy grown up they may very well know geography or math but they are still as dumb as a hip hop porn star knowing something and not useing it is the same as not knowing it
bottem line the educational system educates people but we leave it up to parents to raise children and make them into something if parents are to lazy or not intelligent enough to do this than the internet can do a better job of raiseing kids than parents can
Five generations of Florida "Cracker". Grew up when ALL blacks were just "Niggers". First in my family to recieve a college education...fighter and bomber pilot in VNam years..raised 7 kids..."lock em all up" mentality most of my life.
Thank God..that has ALL changed! Not just for me and my family, it is true for most of this County (and picking up speed every day)
Every person (especially a kid) needs affordable access to super high speed. I am 71 years old. Before I die, we will see the laptop supplant textbooks and every kid MUST have one.
God Bless YOU Mr. President
I was wondering if I had any fellow kindred spirits here. Well said, even down to wishing Obama well even though neither of us voted for him.
